In 2007 a dairy farmer in Vermont treated part of his fields with SEA-CROP®. He said that whenever the cows were turned into the Sea-Crop treated fields to graze, the butterfat content of their milk would increase noticeably.
In 2008 a farmer in the Midwest did a test with a four acre hay field.SEA-CROP® was used on one half of the field and the other half received only normal fertilization. Later in the season cattle were turned lose into the field. The cows ate the forage in the SEA-CROP® treated portion of the field down to the ground before they moved over to graze on the conventionally treated half of the field. In this case the greener grass that the cows preferred was not on the other side of the fence.
In 2008 a certified organic dairy farm in the Midwest treated their hay fields with SEA-CROP®. During the winter, when the dairy cows were fed on the dried hay from those fields, they ate from 25% to 30% less hay than normal because their hunger was more readily satisfied with the nutrient dense fodder. The farmer stated that he has a lot more hay left in the barn than is normal for this late in the winter.
Sea-Crop Treated Strawberries: A Personal Trial by Lawrence Mayhew
Last year, when John Kempf told me that he was usingSEA-CROP® with great success, I was surprised, because I thought all sea minerals were the same, specifically just a lot of salt (sodium chloride). A couple of years ago, when sea salts seemed to be all the rage, I was involved in one informal field trial where a very popular sea salt product was evaluated. The trial confirmed my opinion that a great deal of caution should be exercised when applying sea salts because the concentration of sodium and chlorine are very high, thus limiting their usefulness.
The first disappointment with the sea salt product trial was that it did not have all of the nutritional elements that were claimed by the owners of the product. The best way to determine the total elemental make-up of material is to submit a sample to a certified lab for geochemical analysis. Not all labs are capable of geochemical analysis, so we send them to a lab in Canada that specializes in serving the mining industry, where accuracy is extremely important. The geochemical analysis detected only 30 out of the claimed 90 elements.
When evaluating a material, we look for the most complex materials available. Natural materials that have higher micro, trace and ultra trace elements tend to be more effective in biological soil systems. The owner of the Sea-Crop mineral concentrate just happened to use the same lab we use, so the analysis was easily interpreted. The geochemical analysis was very impressive.
The analysis revealed thatSEA-CROP® has very low concentrations of sodium and chlorine, while magnesium, sulfur, potassium, carbon, calcium, boron, iodine, iron, silicon and selenium, just to name a few of the over 70 elements detected, were predominant. That is not sea salt!
The carbon really got my attention. Come to find out, the microbial biomass in the Pacific Ocean where theSEA-CROP® concentrate is derived is approximately two and half times greater than the biomass in biologically active soils. Not only is that astonishing, it means that a lot of complex organic matter must be released into the ocean, and it is very similar to the organic substances released by microbial activity in soils.
The manufacturer ofSEA-CROP® uses a patented process that preserves the organic matter fraction of the sea water while reducing the sodium and chlorine content and concentrating the minerals that are found in the ocean waters around the Willappa Bay of Washington state. This pristine part of the Pacific Ocean is one of the worlds most biologically diverse and productive areas.
Armed with that new information, I decided to applySEA-CROP® on numerous vegetables, ornamentals and fruit trees this spring around my house in Wisconsin. Much to my surprise, the results were obvious. In my experiences with numerous products over the years, it is extremely rare to see obvious results from the application of a product. I saw positive responses on almost everything that was treated with the SEA-CROP®.
The photos of the strawberries are an example of what happened. The first photo shows some strawberries approaching the ripening stage. The second photo shows the treated strawberries, which doesn’t seem too exciting at first glance unless you realize that not only are the SEA-CROP® treated berries ripening sooner than the untreated, they are the second crop, while the unripe berries are only yielding their first crop.
It’s always rewarding to get more yield, but it is even more exciting to realized that anyone eating these berries will be getting the benefit of numerous trace and ultra trace elements that are known to enhance the body’s natural ability to ward off most of the common illnesses of our society, especially cancer.
The other photos reveal that theSEA-CROP® worked on red cabbage and broccoli as well. The treated cabbage matured about one week earlier and had more numerous and larger leaves. I’m really looking forward to the results on our apple and pear trees that have been treated. So far, we are seeing that the pears are staying on the trees, whereas in other years without SEA-CROP®, most of the pears would have dropped by now.
